TMI Tuesday: November 22, 2011

What’s Cookin’ Good Lookin’?

1. Haagen-Dazs or Ben & Jerry’s?

ANS: Haagen-Dazs. Usually butter pecan and occasionally rum raisin.

2. What is always in your refrigerator?

ANS: Lemon Juice--Italian Volcano brand. I use it in tea and for marinating seafood, especially fish.

3. What’s your worst kitchen disaster?

ANS: I've had a few. Even started a mini pan fire or two. But the worst was when I was 17, freshman in college. I wanted to boil eggs. I put them on in the kitchen and forgot about them. Later I went to the TV room adjacent to the kitchen. I hear the maid yelling and I am sure she's cursing but it was some Slavic language so I don't know what she's saying but she's mad! I go to the kitchen to see what's the matter. OMG! The water had boiled out of the pot and egg shells were popping off everywhere, the pot was black, and the kitchen was smelly :O I quickly began helping the maid clean, all the while saying things like "I know...the girls can be so irresponsible...I guess someone forgot they were cooking." As angry as the maid was, no way was I going to let on that I created this horrible mess.

4. Favorite kitchen gadget?

ANS: My Oster electric tea kettle. I bought it in 2000. Stuff made my Oster lasts forever! I still have and use my Oster coffee grinder. It's 17 years old! It works a lot better than a newer Mr. Coffee Grinder.

5. What was your last meal? Did you like it?

ANS: Last meal out was at Busboy & Poets. I'm being polite when I say "It Sucked!" Last night I made mushroom & barley soup. It was delicious! There were leftovers, I ate that for breakfast :-)

6. What’s your favorite cookie?

ANS: I don't have a single favorite cookie. I do love ginger snaps, Mexican wedding cookies, and buttery shortbread cookies.

Instead of just telling us about your favorite cookie why don’t you share the recipe via The Great Online Cookie Exchange Extravaganza
