TMI Tuesday: November 8, 2011

Conspicuous Luxury

This week’s TMI Tuesday was the idea of http://virtualsin.wordpress.com/

1. Do you have a set of dishes that are used for special occassions (e.g. china)? Yes or no. If yes, how often do you use the special dishes?
a. any day because every day is special
b. once a week
c. only for holidays and celebration
d. never, it is displayed in a china cabinet or collecting dust in a box in the attic

ANS: I have a set of dishes that is a service of eight complete with water pitcher, teapot, soup bowls, salad and dinner plates, tea cups and saucers, two serving bowls, butter dish, creamer. I use these items whenever I want, in addition to the cheap mismatched dishes. I figure I''m worth making anytime feel like a special occasion.

2. Do have clothes that you never wear because you are saving them for a special occasion? What is that item of clothing? What would be the appropriate occasion?

ANS: Well not really. I have clothing that is specific for an occasion such as cocktail dresses. I can't just wear them to the grocery store, or running errands. Well I could...

All other items no matter the expense I wear when I feel like it.

3. If you suddenly became very wealthy, which servants would you employ?

a. cleaning service
- Yes, most definitely

b. housekeeper - prefer the cleaning service

c. cook - I am a creative cook and good but I don't really enjoy it. Too, for now, I have KinkyGent and he's a great cook and loves to do it. Given this, I think I'd hire a pastry chef.

d. valet/maid/lady-in-waiting
- Yes to the Lady-in-waiting because this is more like a personal assistant who tends to personal, household and business needs. I need me one of those. And she's gonna be sexy. The fine print on her contract will say: Uniform - fishnet stockings and stilettos, must tend to all of Mistresses needs when Mistress requires anytime, any place. *wink, wink*

e. chauffeur - Yes! I hate to drive.

f. dog-walker - If uber-wealthy I will have lots of doggies but I will exercise them myself. That's why I have them-- to be with them and enjoy them.

g. other - a fuck-toy boy would be nice too. Oh wait, I have H for that. ;-)

4. If you were wealthy, how many homes would you own? Where? (locations–mountains, tropical places for the winter, foreign country/city)

ANS: I don't know. Not a lot though. I don't want the cost of upkeep plus I would not be able to visit and enjoy A LOT of homes. I think a home in a city--Chicago or Paris. I love both cities. A home in the country, which could be anywhere. I am partial to Maine. And I will rent villas and chalets around the world as I travelled. When I have beaucoup bucks I will do nothing but travel...see the world.

5. If you were going to take on a really expensive hobby, which of these would it be?
a. buy an airplane
b. buy a yacht
c. buy a small winery
d. raise exotic animals

ANS: I can hire pilots and planes when I need it. I don't want to fly myself. Of these choices the closest thing I'd enjoy is the yacht. I like to be on the water but I would much more prefer a sailboat, I like sailing. Winery? No. Exotic animals? NEVER.

6. What kind of car would you buy if you had an unlimited budget?
a. expensive sports car
b. luxury car
c. monster truck
d. expensive hybrid or electric car
e. cheap car (I’d be too nervous driving an expensive car).
f. something for the chauffeur to drive me around in

ANS: A Jaguar. Not just any Jaguar but Inspector Morse's classic Jaguar Mark 2. That car is simply beautiful...it's like art. I am not into cars but that car makes me wet! Plus, I am an Inspector Morse fan. Supposedly, in November 2005, Inspector Morse's Jag sold for more than 100,000 GBP (160,000+ USD).

Bonus: Currently, what is your favorite luxury item or decadent thing that you do?

Hmm. I don't do anything decadent. I'm not sure I really have luxury items. I work hard, I treat myself well but I live within my means and don't create excess debt.

Happy TMI Tuesday!!

A pastry chef! Great idea. Hadn't thought of that one. Between the two of us Jill is more of the baker than I, but it would be fun to have someone else prepping desserts for dinner parties and such.

Jill volunteers for the lady-in-waiting position.

@Jack: Jill has been hired for the lady-in-waiting position. She'll be working lots of overtime.

1- I think it's great you use the dishes anytime you want.

2- I think it would be a hoot to wear a cocktail outfit to the grocery store. Nothing really wrong with that. ;)

3- I like the idea of a pastry chef AND lots of doggies (oh!) AND the fuck-toy boy. Oh yeah!

Bonus: I think you'd look really cute in that Jaguar.

Renting a chalet or even staying at a resort would be a nice way to travel and not be tied down to particular place.

@TS99: You really think that Jaguar suits me, you know you have all month to present it to me as a birthday present. :p

@Tame: Hello fellow fan , it was such a good show.

@Gigi: :) Thanks sexy.

@Jz: :D :D I'm so glad you saw yourself in one of those positions. *bats eyelashes*
BTW...your uniform. Red patent leather pumps, a baker's hat, a sexy frilly apron, and your birthday suit.

@Souther Sir: That was my thinking.

@Katie Archer: I had some great times in your town.

@KaziGrrl: When I get that Jag, I'll pick you up and we'll go for a ride.

Thank you all for stopping by and commenting and of course for participating in TMI Tuesday!

Ah a classic car lover too I see, I actually have tenious connections to Morse and Oxford. My ex girlfriend's father's story is fictionalised in the Wench is Dead, but a lot of it is totally truthful. Colin Dexter to that point was a family friend!
